Happy 40th!
Hi and a Happy Bank Holiday to you!
It's a Friend's 40th Birthday very soon lol! I have made this card and thought I might take the theme of a few challenges too!
The papers are from LLB collection. I have painted the chipboard heart with eggplant paint. I have then used a butterfly stencil and sprayed over with misters.
I have used a really cute Tilda stamp which is new (for my birthday). I have used lots of flowers which I brought on Friday. I have attached the two sides of the heart with some ribbons.
The Message reads "It's your day......" and when opened to the hidden message to read "Happy Birthday".
The Colours I have used are what I consider hot and spicy and therefore the hot reminds me of the Summer along with the flowers.
The backing papers are stamped at the edge with the faux stitches, which is a Tim Holtz stamp.

Well I got inky with this card lol! Lots of the challenges were connected with Vintage, tearing and distress. I have used K & Co papers and torn them and used Tim Holtz Vintage Photo on the edges. I then got a baby wipe and wiped over everything to blend in a bit more.
I painted 3 apple shaped chipboard pieces and popped on a sentiment which reads "You're the Apple of my Eye".
The image is by the wonderful Karen Johnson called Tea with Grandma, this fell in nicely with the challenge for Polka dot tea party!
The ribbon for the bow along the bottom in green is from DCWV. I then popped on some fabby flowers and made the centers using buttons.
Although the image is not stamped, the Happy Birthday is along with the swirls around the edge of the card.

Love Notes
I finished making this box a couple of days ago. The top I did 2 or 3 weeks ago and I just got around to finishing the bottom, when I popped over to Gingersnaps and found that their challenge was "Read". I thought that this might fit the theme well as I made the box as a place to keep Love Notes. Does my husband send me love notes.......... does he hell! lol! but a girl can dream :-)
I started off with a chipboard like box. I used a mould for the metal work and then put some black acrylic paint over the metal and wiped off the excess. I went around the edges of the metal with a little wheel thingy tool and then cut the metal in half so I could cover two corners.
I used Terra on the center of the lid and stamped in to it. I then painted over the terra once dry and used some bronze metal paint and glimmer mists.
I then added some embellishments to match the stamp and love theme.
The bottom of the box is covered with bronze paints and then I have used a stencil and sprayed with Misters.
All in all I think it worked quite well. I showed my husband the box and said it would be nice to have something to put in to it. He said "I really like the box" and carried on with what he was doing, bless him MEN! .....
I would love your comments............. on the box lol not my husband :-) xx
Thanks for looking xx
Friday ........................
.............. where did the week go!? Well I am hoping to post something for you to see tonight, but at the moment every time I have gone to make a post something happens! It was one of those days yesterday where nothing went to plan even down to my jacket potato exploding in the oven! Ended up with a take away lol!
In case I don't get a chance to post I have something funny to share with you instead.
My Mum and Dad are in their late 60's and they wanted to use their computer to get on to the net etc. They are doing really well and love all the sites where they can research their family trees.
Well, my brother helps them out when there is a problem with their computer and one day he was there working on a problem when he asked my mum "Have you been burning CDs?" To which she replied in a panic "Why? Can you smell something burning........" Bless her! :-) xx
Have a great day everyone and I hope that made you smile xx
